Operate alongside the Store Director as part of senior management, including retail sales, marketing, eCommerce, logistics, personnel, financial and strategic business planning. Direct the procurement and management of course materials, technology, art supplies, office supplies, graduation regalia, general books, collegiate apparel and gift merchandise. Lead the development and maintenance of strategic business opportunities to enhance revenue. Manage and execute course material and technology affordability initiatives in cooperation with ISU administration and industry partners. Lead, create, and execution of outreach, public relations, and marketing opportunities for academic resources – textbooks, course materials, computers, technology.Review and analyze financial statements for total sales and expense performance and other key performance indicators for the overall bookstore operation. Interpret, respond, and maintain compliance to relevant Federal and State legislation and regulations. Lead in the development and implementation of software and technology business solutions. Hire, train, coach, and manage a diverse staff: 25 full-time career employees, 5 student buyer interns, 80+ part-time staff.

Manage the course materials, general trade book, art and supply divisions. Lead the Course Material initiatives at Iowa State University, with an emphasis on student affordability. Those initiatives include: Print Textbooks, Used Textbooks, Textbook Rental, Digital/eBooks/Access Codes, Inclusive Access, Coursepackets/Copyright Clearance, Open Educational Resources (OER), Sourcing/Buyback, and Dynamic Pricing strategies. Review and analyze inventory and purchasing management reports for inventory performance, open to buy management, and sales goals; including implementation of the Universal Hierarchy classification system. Analyze KPIs with complex database, financial, and inventory reports to create short and long term action plans. Coordinate, prepare and administer departmental budget. Initiate and interpret request for proposal and contract development with major publishing companies and other major vendors.Hire, train, coach, and manage a diverse staff: 5 full-time employees, 15+ part-time employees, and 20+ seasonal employees.

Category buyer for course materials and software licensing. Managed the daily operations of these categories including coordination and ordering/receiving, inventory management, sales and customer service, customer and product tracking/organization, analysis, vendor relations and performance. Specific skillset with copyright clearance, copyright law research and compliance, faculty and student service, management of Iowa State University's software licensing agreements for Microsoft, Apple, Adobe, and Filemaker for campus departments, faculty, and staff.
