I worked as a 5th/6th combination teacher in a rural school district. I use technology in all of my instruction, focus on equity and access, and focus strongly on meeting every student's unique need in using differentiation.

Worked in an urban, inner-city, Title 1 school as a 6th grade teacher. The population I served was high ELL, low-income, at-risk students. I worked daily on creating an engaging environment in order to help student behavior and success. I used technology, access and equity practices, and strongly focused on meeting every student's needs through best practices and differentiation of instruction.

I helped a start-up to create content, edit and repurpose content, consult for ideas on how to develop in a niche market.

I served as a 6th Grade History and ELA teacher at Stanley Middle School in Lafayette for four years. I taught in this diverse, Bay Area based school with students who had a very wide range of learning abilities and backgrounds. I served students with ELL status, implemented accommodation and modifications outlined in IEPs and 504s. I supported teachers transitioning into technology based practices, was a participant in CUE, and became highly trained in Google Suite. I served on Stanley’s Leadership Team for two school years and helped make whole school decisions about instruction, homework, and grading policies.

While earning a Master’s in Education with a focus on rural school populations, I co-taught in a 5th grade classroom. Classroom management, serving a diverse population with equity, academic success, use of technology, best practices, and engaging instruction were the focus of our teaching. My master’s project researched how to lower student anxiety in Math in order to help them increase their math achievement. This was done by creating a Math club and using qualitative and quantitative research methods and observations for the span of the club.
