Introduction:I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, specialising in complex foot and ankle surgery. My NHS practice is based at the Royal Bournemouth & Poole Hospitals, where I was appointed in 2004. My private practice is at The Nuffield Hospital, Bournemouth and The BMI Harbour Hospital, Poole.Training:I qualified from Charing Cross & Westminster Medical School in 1994. My surgical training was on the North West Thames training programme. I carried out fellowship training in complex foot and ankle surgery at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, a centre of excellence for complex orthopaedic surgery.Clinical Practice:My clinical practice is almost exclusively related to conditions of the foot and ankle. This includes the management of complex foot deformity, as well as treating high level and professional athletes.Medicolegal Practice:I take instructions for both personal injury and clinical negligence cases. For personal injury cases, I see the general range of common injuries that require an Orthopaedic opinion, as well as providing a specialist opinion for patients with complex foot and ankle injuries. My clinical negligence practice is exclusively related to cases that require an expert opinion on foot and ankle conditions. In November 2018, my research won the prestigious first prize for best podium presentation at The BOFAS Annual Conference.Other posts:I have recently finished my term as President of BOFAS.
