As member of the Agile Transition Team at P&I Darmstadt I took part in their agile journey. I was involved in all different aspects of the transition with a focus on coaching agile teams in Scrum and Kanban including team, Product Owner and Scrum Master coaching. As an Interim Scrum Master I helped to launch an innovative product development within P&I Telekom. Some more activities involved development of new trainings and workshop formats.

As Product Owner for a very big middleware project (currently: 12 million CAD, 3 development teams) I worked closely with the main stakeholders of the project as well as the analysts of existing solutions and systems in order to identify user stories and prioritize them. Goal of the project is to publish functionality and business process of the current backend systems via a common middleware layer. Together with the teams I organized planning poker sessions, planned sprints and accepted user stories.

iPhone/ iPad Application Development (7 months)We developed an iPhone and iPad app for an international enterprise software in an 8-months project.Being Scrum Master I was responsible for removing obstacles, creating a safe environment for the team, support self-organization within the team and help the team to become high-performing by introducing specific team building activities. By moderating weekly retrospectives I could help initiating continuous process and technique improvement. On the other hand I worked closely with our customer who at the same time was Product Owner in order to ensure a groomed and prioritized backlog, as well as being interface to dependent projects.Within Thoughtcorp I facilitated other project retrospectives, and organized agile game sessions and a book club with other colleagues. WebApp Development (1 week & 1 week)These small yet intense WebApp development projects were the result of a team initiative. Completely self-organized we decided to take on the city of Toronto’s call to present free data from their ‚Open data Initiative‘ for a public event in both Toronto and Ottawa in a WebApp.http://doto.thoughtcorp.com/As Scrum Master I needed to come up with an adapted Scrum for a week long project, remove obstacles and put the results of our first project retrospective into action for the second project.

For in-Step, a process based project management tool. This involved designing customer specific development processes based on agile principles, tool configuration, tool extension specifications and roll-out of tool and processes within a company. My over 30 clients spanned various industry sectors (telecommunication, automobile, government, paper industry, etc.) throughout Europe (Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Finland).Agile Consulting – Elektrobit (800 employees at German division)Worked with the QA department and a senior colleague to design an agile development process for the German division based on Scrum that met the safety requirements given by the automotive industry. We established Scrum for the process and roll-out team and I served as Scrum Master.Agile Coach – EWE TEL (1300 employees)Worked with the IT process department to design an agile process for the company’s portfolio management process. The focus was on improving time-to-market and reducing documentation and bureaucracy. Delivered training to all relevant departments and improved the process according to the feedback we received. Marketing agile mindset and principles to trigger a cultural change.Agile TrainingDelivered Scrum training to management and developers at several companies.Agile Consulting – DRV (German Pension Fund)Consulted the project management and designed an iterative approach for a highly critical project, which has been finished successfully.
