I am interested in positions that allow me to use the majority of my skills in a manner that assists with continuous improvement and problem solving. My background has provided me with the opportunity to participate in a variety of teaching and learning situations, and I am always interested in finding new ways to apply my skills and experience. I have over 17 years of combined experience as an instructional design specialist, academic librarian, online program director, and instructor in online, hybrid, and face-to-face environments. My area of specialty is the development of quality online courses and educational programs. I have experience in instructional design for face-to-face, hybrid, and online education with a focus on incorporating andragogical techniques and best practices that optimize the student and instructor learning experience. In addition to assisting faculty in designing courses, I have significant experience creating faculty development offerings in the areas of teaching with technology, assessment, Quality Matters, and implementation of teaching theories and best practices. Much of my design work is rooted in personal experience both as an online student and an online instructor, and is further supported by research in the field. Online Program DirectorTexas Woman'S University May 2011 - Feb 2013Department Of Health Studies, Denton CampusI assisted in planning for future growth and success of all online programs and worked to ensure alignment both with external competencies and with program courses. Working with our chair, advisors, and curriculum committees, I assisted in coordinating the online undergraduate completion degree programs (BS and BAS) and the fully online MS degree program. A large part of my responsibility was managing the CMS (Blackboard 9.1) aspects of the undergraduate and graduate online degree programs, and I routinely oversaw preparation of the course shells each semester by faculty and staff. The Health Studies program was working toward QM Program certification for the online undergraduate completion degree programs, and I was responsible for overseeing and organizing this project. I also worked with faculty to improve teaching and learning in the online environment, managed textbook orders and changes for the various courses, and organized and facilitated online orientations for the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral programs using Wimba. In consultation with faculty I assisted and guided course design for all online classes utilizing sound pedagogical and instructional design techniques. Additionally, I assisted with regional and discipline specific accreditation of online programs, and worked on outreach projects for the department including a departmental blog.
