- Led deployment, integration and operations for a nationwide suite of distributed compute, storage and programmable network infrastructure sponsored by the National Science Foundation. GENI provides students, professors and IT departments with 24x7 access to live resources for experimentation. Wrote and won original $12 million GENI NSF proposal, and won follow-on work worth approximately ten times the original award. Built, integrated and supported this cutting edge distributed network R&D facility with resources in over 60 US and international research organizations. - Managed two Department of Defense quantum networking research projects to build 4 qubit hardware, and to investigate potential issues with quantum networking in the open ocean environment.- Built the first–ever implementation of Software Defined Network (SDN) peering between core networks (NLR and Internet2).- Led technical team on a successful SDN demonstration project for the Maryland Procurement Office. - Successfully turned around a failed internal IT project to bring all BBNT offices into compliance with NIST 800-171 cybersecurity requirements. Completed desktop, server, and infrastructure upgrades and automated documentation to prove all departments met DFARS contract clause requirements on all new DoD business.

- Lead consultant for IP network operations systems on Boeing satellite networking proposal and demonstration (TSAT). Analyzed and documented requirements, design, and integration plans for encrypted DoD IP networks. Coordinated integration and demonstration of prototype systems for live customer proposal demonstrations.- Senior project manager for other technology projects, including SpaceVPN (NASA) and encryption hardware (Homeland Security) projects, managing groups in multiple locations with project budgets up to $6 million.- Managed up to 25 engineers and lab support staff in Networking Department. Promoted to deputy department manager when two departments merged. Emphasized development opportunities, coupled with clearly defined schedule and budget responsibilities for staff to encourage successful project deliveries.

Developed, deployed, and supported MOCA's web-based commercial construction simulation products. Led JAVA servlet and user interface development and support, and managed a small developer team. Modeled different construction options with SIMPROCESS software, providing cost and schedule data to optimize project plans and cut costs for MOCA customers. Managed releases, maintained testbed, established release engineering and documentation processes in a mixed Linux/Windows startup environment.

Led development efforts for $7-14 million in commercial engineering products and services. Completed quarterly releases of security projects on schedule and budget, including joint development projects with multiple vendors. Expanded core development staff by 50 percent. Established aggressive training support for staff in three locations to add security, JAVA and other technical expertise to existing staff skills. Turnover in my groups was among lowest in company.Developed Genuity's first VPN service, which was named best in industry by Network Computing magazine. Design included SLA reporting and network management and IPSEC digital certificate service for Timestep and Nortel VPNs with significant enhancements and automated web interfaces for certification/subscription. Expanded Genuity's support for managed firewalls in include Check Point and WatchGuard products, integrating the new products with Spectrum, Netcool, Vantive and Oracle legacy support systems. Added SLA monitoring and reporting to managed firewall service. Standardized development model for requirements analysis, functional specification, and reporting for these relatively mature products. Developed trial QoS network for multimedia applications using Cisco routers. Service included network monitoring software that measured and reported on network bandwidth and delays for customers such as Intel and Consolidated Edison.
