Since starting my nursing career in an extended care facility, I have cared for increasingly diverse patient populations, been exposed to an array of disease processes, and have yielded to the everchanging technological advances when providing patient care. I have been able to utilize skills that started with holistic care and supervisory skills and expanded to a less invasive procedural unit that utilizes clinical reasoning and critical thinking. From working in the procedural area and seeing advancements in care and treatments, I now know the importance of collaboration, networking, and education to the future of nursing. Now, I look forward to being able to guide new nurses in their own journey of lifelong learning as they go on their own path to provide safe, quality patient care.
