I led the commissioning of a mid-sized hospital smart-building, which has all systems integrated to the BAS. All hospital building systems were commissioned, including all HVAC equipment, critical spaces, life safety, emergency power, lighting, and plumbing. I have also led the commissioning of a small commercial LEED facility and two newly constructed museum facilities. I develop and execute custom functional performance test scripts that are used to prove the dynamic operation, automation, and interaction for all equipment. I work closely with the construction team to verify systems perform as intended and to identify and correct those that do not. I have confirmed the performance of a variety of systems, including emergency generators, multi-stage chillers, condensing boilers, steam boilers, air handling units, air conditioning units, kitchen exhaust systems, and multiple types of terminal units.

I was solely responsible for applications support of equipment that optically inspected Intel's computer chips for defects. I was proficient at qualifying, matching, and optimizing the brightfield equipment.The focus of this position was to troubleshoot all performance issues of the equipment. Operational problems I worked on had various causes including software, electronic, optical, networking, problems endemic to the equipment’s archaic systems, and several cases where the causes commingled.I presented problem analysis to both Intel’s engineers and to Hitachi’s Japanese design engineers. My skill at presenting the information in ways that showed insight was critical to solving the many complex applications problems that we encountered with this equipment.I trained Intel’s engineers, Hitachi’s field service engineers, and three of Hitachi’s newly hired application engineers.

From the project’s start, I identified, engineered, and implemented energy conservation projects. I trained locally hired personnel to manage the ongoing projects and to monitor energy savings. Energy savings projects I worked on include reducing equipment, lighting, and transformer loads for electricity savings and improving the combustion efficiency of several furnaces for natural gas savings.

I played a key role in the initial success of SSC by creating strong predictive energy-use baseline models that were used for measuring shared savings revenue.At each plant I acquired, validated, and arranged historical data and performed multiple linear regression analysis of the relationship between energy and production data. I used Visual Basic to program spreadsheets to automate the updating of reports and graphs.The first steel plant I worked at, then Laclede Steel which is now Alton Steel, was profiled on "Dirty Jobs: Steel Mill Worker" with Mike Rowe.
