Dr. Spitz has been practicing psychology for over 25 years focusing primarily on helping individuals who have sustained a brain injury. She has trained and practiced in leading hospitals in and around New York City, including Rusk Institute at New York University Hospital, New York Presbyterian (Columbia University), Mount Sinai, Bellevue, Lenox Hill, and Burke Rehabilitation Hospital at Montefiore in Westchester. In this capacity, she has also supervised interns and postdoctoral students in psychology. She also maintains a thriving private practice. Dr. Spitz is primarily interested in brain injury of any cause, whether a result of trauma, chronic illness, or any other condition. She is committed to helping all individuals improve their cognitive and emotional functions individually or in group settings regardless of their financial situation. Her process also involves active participation and involvement of family members which is critical for a successful outcome.
