As an administrative assistant, I assist in staffing the CARE front desk, greeting and directing visitors, filing and keeping records. My greatest responsibilities are census related matters. I help to oversee the transition from a manual census system to an automated system using Topaz Technologies. This project involves tracking account and protocol changes, replenishing census supplies, completing scans, and comparing data from the two systems to ensure accuracy. In addition to census responsibilities, I have worked under the direction of the CARE Financial Director on special projects such as a cost analysis report.

In my role as a Veterinary Technician Assistant, I provide assistance to the Laboratory Veterinary Technicians during procedures and daily tasks. I assist in monitoring animal welfare during the prep, procedure and recovery stages of surgical and non-surgical procedures. This largely involves monitoring various species under anesthesia. Additionally, I assist in daily rounds of the large animals and other ad hoc projects as directed by the Technicians. As well as working with large animals, I have gained some experience with rodent handling, sentinel collection, and euthanasia.
