About Heikal Badrulhisham
Whether for linguistics research or personal projects, I have been writing computer programs to collect, clean and analyze massive amounts of data. Although I'm interested in data of various forms, I am especially interested in language data; usable information therein is tantalizingly locked away from computer programs.Other than technical skills, I also bring curiosity and literacy towards data. Given a dataset, I would wonder, what are the quirks of the data, and how should the data be processed before they could be useful for a product or suitable for telling a story. Rather than just using statistical measurements and algorithms, I have learned to recognize their limitations and figure what conditions have to be set for them to work.
