Youth Homelessness Demonstration Project, an innovative and youth-led approach to endingyouth homelessness. Our team works with clients ages 13-24 to ensure they are stably housed and have the resources they need to move into a brighter future.

The Y Social Impact Center, formerly Accelerator YMCA and Nexus Youth and Families, is the social services division of the YMCA of Greater Seattle.LifeSet specializes in serving youth and young adults who have experienced trauma such as homelessness, foster care, exploitation, systemic poverty, and racism. Our approach addresses the whole person by offering a wide array of services in the following areas: housing, behavioral health, education, employment, and violence intervention and prevention. As the LifeSet Program Director, I directed program development, operations and delivery of assigned program area(s) to the membership and community. LifeSet is an individualized, evidence-informed, clinically based program designed to empower young people on their journey from foster care to adulthood. LifeSet pairs a highly-trained specialist with each young person to help identify goals and execute the right interventions to reach them. Specialists stabilize even the toughest situations and help young people obtain healthy relationships, safe housing, education and employment.

Our YVLifeSet Specialists provide their 18-22 year old clients with the knowledge to utilize all available community resources. These specialists are able to help young adults become self-sufficient by assisting them in locating and learning how to use community resources such as housing, employment and education by forming therapeutic relationships with program participants, families, friends, and other key community stakeholders.Handle a caseload of 8 18-22 year old clientsCreate individual service plans with each client based on their goals in order to transition into adulthood.Work collaboratively with the individual, family and community.

YTech Volunteer Recruitment: defined volunteer job descriptions, recruit volunteers/mentors through different avenues, conducted outreach. Volunteer Training, Volunteer Retention: developed YTech Mentor training curriculum, conduct mentor trainings, compile and analyzed training evaluation data. Get Engaged Youth Connection & Training: created a PugetSoundOff.org training presentation for Get Engaged cohort, conducted & planned the 2015-16 cohort orientation, regularly had one-on-one check-ins with GE members, attended and helped coordinate monthly GE meetings. PugetSoundOff.org Partner Outreach: created PSO outreach presentation for youth workers & youth-serving organizations, conducted outreach presentations to potential partner sites. PSO Community/Online Outreach: created & distributed quarterly PSO newsletter, supported PSO Youth Advisory Council, attending meetings & incorporating youth feedback, helped to re-establish the PSO Freelance program, attended Seattle City Council meetings and other civic events of interest to youth and help support their blogging on PSO, helped maintain PSO's social media presence on Twitter, Facebook, & Instagram, attended youth-focused and cause-specific advocacy focused events and distribute PSO marketing materials.

An active member of the Sound Youth VISTA AmeriCorps team, attend monthly meetings twice a month, actively engage and participate in Social Justice & Anti-Racism work and education, participate in team building activities and professional development workshops.

Maximized rate for all room reservations, promoting and selling packages andmaintaining accurate information in guest history database. Processed allreservation requests, changes and cancellations received by phone, fax, telex,mail, internally and through corporate reservations center or third party travelagencies. Anticipated guests needs, responded promptly to guests andassociates in a timely manner every day.

Taught reading and writing skills to students in Kindergarten thru 5th grade who were not performing at grade level or had not reached the benchmark for their grade level. By working one-on-one and in small groups with K-5 children who needed help learning to read and reaching benchmark goals. Used prescribed literacy interventions and conducted weekly progress monitoring to ensure thestudents were on track to read at grade level by the end of the year.

Was an active team member of the Solid Ground Washington Reading Corps, AmeriCorps group. Attended weekly meetings where I participated in team building activities, actively learned and engaged in Social Justice & Anti-Racism work.

Worked directly with staff & volunteers in their daily duties; helped women in crisis by providing support, services, and educational classes. Planned events that encouraged community involvement and volunteer participation. Promoted new volunteer recruitment through media sources and planned events. Assisted staff in placing volunteers into appropriate programs. Followed up with volunteers to make sure their experiences were positive. Maintained volunteer hour tracking and volunteer recognition events. Was an active team member of the Intermountain AmeriCorps Team in Wenatchee, WA. Attended monthly meetings where I participated in group team building activities, career building workshops, and community service projects.

Over saw and managed a small reservations department, took reservations through email, phone, website, & expedia. Helped with work in customer service and front desk services, as well as sometimes working as a Night Auditor.
