Part of Rochdale Borough Council's corporate communications team, I develop and lead on a comprehensive communications strategy for the purpose of harmonising communications across over 30 partner agencies including the council, police, NHS, third sector, community and voluntary organisations, who together are committed to tackling crime and disorder.

Key responsibilities listed below:• Editor of the employee magazine. • Development and implementation of bespoke public health communications campaigns for example smoking cessation, healthy eating, physical activity, antibiotics and flu.• Writing reports and updates on communications activities to corporate committees.• Providing strategic advice to senior managers on a reactive basis with regard to press enquiries and stories.• Management of the design and publication of internal and external literature.• Writing and distributing proactive press releases to the relevant media.• Author of annual report. • Co-ordination and management of corporate events such as Annual General Meetings, staff awards ceremonies.

My primary responsibilties were generating publicity for these premium brand beauty products in UK national consumer magazines through proactive press releases and press pitches. Exploring opportunities to maximize press coverage by negotiating competitions/ cross promotions and bespoke promotional campaigns. But I also acted as events manager to launch/ showcase products and drive sales and key events including the one year anniversary celebrations.In more of a sales capacity I led on the development of corporate sales and supply agreements with leading retail buyers including Harrods.
