My role at Cookridge Hall involves developing the business to ensure that we hit targets and continue to grow the business. I am responsible for setting the strategic direction, of a relatively new business, that was under new ownership when I joined in 2011, through a targeted marketing strategy, using both traditional and digital marketing tools. I manage the day to day running of the sales team ensuring that the targets are hit and we continue to attract new members to the club. I also look at the ways that we can retain members through communication and improvements to the club. Development of the club websites, social media and all advertising also falls under my responsibility. I also manage the Events team and through a targeted marketing plan, the Events business has grown from nothing in 2011 to a significant business and credible venue. During my time at Cookridge Hall the membership has grown significantly with a strategic focus and marketing plan focused on attracting new members and improving the club.

In my time at Asda Stores Ltd I did a variety of roles as a Buying Manager. The role is a senior role within the buying team, with responsibility of sales and profit of significant financial categories. The roles I have undertaken have been varied, all providing different challenges, being new business that needed development with the Baby Shop and Baby Events role, to the high pressured role of managing and negotiating the buy for seasonal confectionery, a significant footfall driver for Asda. I also managed various buying areas and the team in Toiletries often managing the areas with limited resource and negotiating with major suppliers. Following my marketing role in Frozen food, with a vast understanding of the category I became the Frozen desserts and Ice cream buyer for a number of years. The latter role at Asda, was setting up the Baby Shop concept in store and on line and running the successful, financially lucrative Baby Events. The buying managers role involves managing profit and loss, range reviews, terms negotiations and managing supplier relationships aswell as managing people through internal teams and supplier relations. My various roles at Asda gave me a great experience for working in a fast moving and demanding environment and developed my management skills significantly.

I managed the ranges, strategic direction of the category, advertising, customer understanding and the packaging and look and feel of the category. The role involved managing both own label and branded marketing plans. I spent a number of years as Marketing Manager for Frozen Food, I also worked within Bakery, Dairy and own label.
