Support children with complex needs

Supporting full-time international students during their visa application process, along with their studies. Planning, managing and implementing programmes for groups visiting from overseas.

I was one of the main points of contact for many different groups, whilst working in Spain. I often had to liaise with Spanish personnel to ensure activities ran smoothly. Planning and organising timings and itineraries was also included in my responsibilities'; as well as motivating students to take part in various water sport activities.

I was the Vice President of the SBS Languages Society at Sheffield Hallam University 2018. My main roles and responsabilities were to work alongside the president to encourage and reach out to as many students, from language to non language students and to international and Erasmus students. As a team we organised a variety of events to suit everybody; some of which included : a European film night, International nights out, Tandem and many more...In order to promote these I also supervised the marketing and social media team to ensure we were promoting and advertising our events as much as possible. This enables us to encourage as many students to come to our events to meet new people from around the world, practice or learn new language skills and make friends for life !

My main role here at PGL Château du Tertre was a Tour Leader. I would take groups of school children or uniformed groups such as sea cadets on excursions around Normandy including places such as : the D Day landing beaches, Saint Malo, Mont Saint Michel and many more... whilst assisting coach drivers with directions if necessary and providing different coach entertainment depending on the age of the group. When I was not being a tour leader for groups I would transfer my skills to being an activity instructor. This would involve instructing three different ropes : zip wire, abseiling and climbing which I was glad to achieve all of them after hard work and training. Alongside these I was also trained in archery, fencing, air rifles and problem solving.In addition to these I would also have to provide evening entertainment either individually or as a team depending on the size of the school group. These could vary from our version of the tv show the cube, campfires with marshmallows and songs, outings to French cafés and as it is a French centre we also had crêpe nights.

As part of my placement year I worked in Paris for the company Location Vacances Express. My role was to take care of the SMO of the business.My daily routine included creating and writing new and current articles in French for our clients. These articles designed by myself would concern different topics such as ski and summer events and discounts. These would then be posted on their website and social media pages. In addition to this I also translated different pages of their website from French to English and English to French. This helped to improve my translation skills massively which I hope will prove useful in final year at university.
