As a member of the CRUK Urological Malignancies Programme and the Department of Oncology, I support daily research activities involving translational cancer research.Current lead for the TransRAMPART research study.

Worked in Central Specimen Reception, where large quantities of clinical samples were received from wards and GPs in the surrounding area and booked in using multiple database systems, including the NHS LIMS database system, Telepath.Responsibilities included: proper handling of clinical samples, pre-analytical sample preparation, following protocols, administrative duties, data entry of patient data into databases, data management and an understanding of patient confidentiality.

Prepared lipids samples in the research lab and performed analytical and structural lipidomic and metabolomic studies, using high-resolution 1D 1H and 13C NMR for assignments and NMR analysis. 31P NMR was also touched upon. I was also taught how to safely handle and use the 600MHz Bruker the NMR spectrometer and how to use the Bruker Topspin software for analysis.
