Director European Finance
European Finance Director, part of the EU Senior Leadership Team. Responsible for 9 European legal entities (comprising 3 manufacturing entities, 3 holding companies, 1 regional sales company, 1 PE branch, 1 dormant), with teams across 4 sites, including Finance, Commercial and Infrastructure IT teams. First year in the company saw the EU Management Team manage a rapid adaptation to remote, electronic ways of working in response to Covid-19, continued manufacturing operations, then a transition back to on-site working. The Finance & IT teams prepared for an ERP system migration, and responded to numerous external / authority / internal audits. As EU FD I supported a major operational capex project through contract negotiation stage, a project which I continued to support from a commercial point of view for the following years through the multi-year construction phase. Second year: saw a legal entity merger in which an EU holding company became parent of all global subsidiaries; and taking on the local reporting line of Commercial and Infrastructure IT Teams; overseeing an ERP system migration, identifying ensuing process improvements; Third year saw an EU head office entity with branches brought into the internal European accounting team, adding SOx controls, along with adjustments to PE/Branch/Liaison Office accounting in several territories, understanding relevant legislation in each jurisdiction. Fourth year comprised more group LE mergers, subsidiary restructuring projects, the introduction of hedge instruments to a UK entity, along with supporting a global restructure of the IT function.Fifth year: supporting swift and significant changes in IT, including O365 migration. Contributing to the regions sustainability & ESG roadmap, along with large commercial projects, operational projects & innovation projects incl working with GM organisations, grant applications and joint local authority projects eg contributing to the Atom Valley Innovation Board.
