I'm passionate about Jobcare and the work we do- assisting unemployed people gain the confidence, skills and knowledge necessary to seek, find and keep meaningful employment. It's fantastic to see people develop and move on in their lives- both personally and professionally. I first started in Jobcare in 1996 as a participant on our Community Employment programme. This equipped me to move on to full-time work as an adult trainer with Jobcare, providing interview presentation courses to other community groups before leaving on maternity leave in Dec 2000. So I'm delighted to now work as a Community Employment Supervisor in Jobcare and give that support to our part-time colleagues as they progress in to suitable work. I was previously on Jobcare's CE Sponsor Committee for ten years. After a career break of twelve years raising our children and volunteering, I returned to Jobcare in 2012 as a Job Club Advisor. I then moved to the CEO Support office as Resourcing and Communications Manager for over ten years before joining the training team to support our Jobnet programme and work as Volunteer and Partnerships Lead. I'm privileged to have such a history with Jobcare and to have worked in different roles and departments within the organisation. This has given me different perspectives and insights into the charity as a whole. Throughout the years and in each role, the main focus has always been the people we work with and I remain motivated by the opportunity to work alongside individuals and help them develop their skills, experience and confidence to take the next step in their career journey. As a charitable organisation, we benefit greatly from the support of a number of local businesses, corporates and individual "friends of Jobcare" who give their time, skills, knowledge, resources and finances to further and enrich our work. Our supporters' help makes a real difference to our jobseekers. I'm so grateful for our incredible volunteers!I've loved working with so many people who've been part of the Jobcare community through the years and keeping in touch with many of them. I'm looking forward to working with many more in the years to come. Working matters!
