I completed my Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Occupational Therapy at the University of Southampton, then went on to pursue a Master of Science (Hons) in Ergonomics (Human Factors) at Loughborough University.My Masters dissertation investigated the observed and perceived effects of wearing an Osteoarthritis Simulation Suit on performance in a series of physical tasks. I was awarded the Ergonomics Prize for Academic Excellence during my time at Loughborough University.I am a graduate member of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors and a member of the UK User Experience Professionals Association. I currently work as a Principal Consultant at System Concepts, specialising in user experience, accessibility and ergonomics. I am a highly skilled project manager and user researcher, with extensive knowledge and experience conducting usability and accessibility testing, customer experience research, journey mapping, interaction design, information architecture research, persona development and expert reviews, as well as ergonomics and physical accessibility assessments. I employ a variety of different research methods including facilitating lab and contextual user testing sessions, ethnographic research, depth interviews, focus groups and stakeholder workshop delivery. I am an Access Auditor and completed my training with the centre for accessible environments. I hold a Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) qualification.Prior to joining System Concepts, I worked as a Consultant for Posturite, where I was responsible for developing and delivering training courses and performing complex workplace and vehicle assessments. I developed my skills for interviewing and getting the best feedback from people whilst I was an Occupational Therapist. During this part of my career I developed an interest in how a wide range of people with different abilities can experience different services and products.
