Providing HR support and consultancy with HR issues and casework, HR policy development and oversight o restructures and other projects to ensure that staff are employed in line with national T&Cs and HR good practice and any risks to the school are minimised.

Advising the Project team, Sponsors and the Principal on the TUPE transfer of staff various schools to create a new Academy. We support various established Academies with the more complex on-going HR matters and to assist them as they grow an in-house HR team.

The congregation have 3 non maintained special schools and a number of residential homes as well as several convents employing staff. My primary role has been as HR Adviser to the 3 Headteachers and the Head of Special Needs for the community. Consulting senior staff and drafting consistent HR policies to create an HR Handbook; also redrafting job descriptions and evaluating posts to create consistent grades across the three schools. We also advise on complex casework and support senior managers with difficult HR issues. Our work has expanded to support the HR management of 2 residential care homes and all establishments run by the congregation.

I set up this consultancy business in 1999 and now have 4 staff and 6 associates around the UK. We work independently with clients on various Human Resources (HR) projects - so with a range of schools, Academies, Local Authorities and also Private Employers. Examples are given below. Our own HR policy handbook is kept up to date - with 4 user guides written to suit the Governance arrangements in Academies and all the various categories of schools! Our focus is now keeping an eye on case law and changes in employment law to keep it bang up to date in line with all the constant Government changes! Our subscribers can then relax and know that we will let them know when things need updating. Dealing a with a number of complex grievances and difficult disciplinary cases too - to support the employer in each case and find a resolution so that things move on for all parties. .......All very varied, interesting and exciting!! always looking out for new opportunities for the business or myself to expand our horizons!

Working as an HR adviser to the school management team on complex casework, dealing with restructuring as and when required and advising on HR policies and procedures. Recently advising on the federation of St Mary's College with St Thomas More in Hull - an exciting new venture of support that is already benefiting the young people and the Catholic community.

I led and managed an HR team of 12 delivering support to 93 local authority schools. I advised the Chief Officer of the directorate's statutory responsibility and led negotiations with Trade Unions on changes to terms and conditions for Teacher in our schools.
