I head up the Bespoke Development arm of the Learning Division and report into the Director of Learning. Hugely varied role, where no two days are the same. I can be helping a client to think through and implement a new Leadership Competency Framework across their organisation, work with another client to develop a bespoke Leadership Programme with an emphasis on EDI or be assisting an organisation to develop a cadre of coaches and a Coaching Culture. I love my job and I love collaborating with partners and clients to co-create bespoke solutions that best suit their learning needs and achieve the outcomes they're looking for.

I came into Solace to work across the Learning Team, but mainly to develop and head up the Leadership Apprenticeships that Solace offer (Level 5 Operational and Departmental Manager and Level 5 Coaching Professionals). Worked closely with our clients and partners to grow the department, based on a regional as well as in-house delivery model. Alongside colleagues, I took the business through a monitoring visit and a few years later, a full inspection via Ofsted, where we achieved a 'Good' rating and special recognition for the outstanding relationships we have with our clients and learners. Worked also across a range of bespoke, in-house coaching, leadership and management development programmes for multiple clients.

The defining aspect of my role as MD of Novum was to bring effective leadership to achieve business success. Much of my time was spent working with members of the team to set direction and to oversee the company’s various functions to ensure that we were meeting our strategic objectives and mission. I also frequently spent time acting as a client project lead for some of our key organisational customers, supporting them to think through their development needs, facilitating the provision of the appropriate support they required and being alongside them throughout the course of our work together. I managed the key strategic relationships we held including those with Novum's University partners, Leeds Beckett University in the UK and the Michael Smurfit Business School at UCD in Dublin. As well as my leadership role, I was involved with delivery on our Postgraduate Certificate in Business and Executive Coaching and our in-company EMCC and ILM accredited coach training courses. I felt privileged witnessing first-hand the positive changes people make as their awareness is raised to new ways of working, relating to others and being in the world.
