A sustainable food professional with masters degrees in Food Policy and Operational Research, I have practical experience working in a community based organic food enterprise, building up sales of local food.My key strengths are building good working relationships with a range of people and writing concisely and clearly on complex issues. My ideal role would be researching and promoting sustainable food. PASSIONATE FOR SUSTAINABLE FOODAfter gaining a food policy MSc at City University I worked for True Food Community Co-op. Initially working as a Local Food Co-ordinator, finding and building relationships with local organic suppliers. At the successful completion of this project (value of local food increased from £10,000 to £40,000) I was asked to take on the role of shop manager. Running the shop developed my skills in customer service, marketing and managing volunteers. It also gave me strong muscles! I am currently working some shifts managing the shop to cover staff holiday. My commitment to this work is demonstrated through volunteering for several community food projects and twice being on the organising committee for the ‘Reading Town Meal’ with responsibility for the local producer stalls. I am a member of Greater Reading Environmental Network and have worked with Abundance (part of Transition Town Reading). My research on food company websites for Consumer International was used in their report New Media, Same Old Tricks (2009).PASSIONATE FOR THEATREI am an active member of Progress Theatre and have appeared on stage, worked back stage, coordinated productions, run the box office and even written plays. I write a successful weekly blog keeping readers up to date with backstage news and whetting their appetite for the productions
