Responsibilities:Researching the socio-economic impact of antipersonnel mines in the five heaviest mined countries in the world: Cambodia, Afghanistan, Angola, Mozambique, Bosnia-Herzegovina.Designing and managing national landmine surveys in four of those countries and profiling the fifth, Angola.My research provided the basis for a seminal study - After The Guns Fall Silent: The Enduring Legacy of Landmines, Shaun Roberts & Jody Williams, Oxfam (1995)Our findings were presented in evidence to the 1995 Vienna Review Conference of the 1980 United Nations Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons (CCW), which paved the way for the 1997 Mine Ban Treaty.The ICBL and its founding co-ordinator, Jody Williams were jointly awarded the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize.
