About Helen Sharp
My academic career began after working across a wide range of industries in both the public and private sectors , progressing through various management roles specialising in Marketing Strategy, Business Communications, Direct Marketing and E-commerce, and my own marcoms consultancy.My interest lies in marketing development support for SME's and small business start-ups,in either B2C or B2B markets. and my background in IT, Electrical Engineering, Mining and Construction and the Creative Industries - regional Arts Centres and theatres and both local and regional government - has provided a multi-industry experience. Since 2002, I have been working at Nottingham Trent University as a Senior and then Principal lecturer, first in the School of Art and Design and then in Nottingham Business School. I currently manage and lead corporate development in the Marketing Division and offer award winning CIM Professional courses. and Degree Apprenticeships. I launched the NBS - Digital Marketer Degree Apprenticeship in September 2019 and I was part of the Provider Readiness Group / Trailblazer team developing the Marketing Manager Apprenticeship to its National launch in April 2018. In 2015 I was course lead for the launch of the first Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship (CMDA) at NBS.My primary aim is to build and maintain strong links with existing and emerging business partners and industries to benefit my students.
