The EDiT (Enabling Digital Transformation) department at imec is responsible for conducting demand-driven research and development in collaboration with various public organizations and institutes. The department focuses on addressing "wicked problems", which are complex social or cultural issues that are difficult or impossible to solve due to incomplete or contradictory knowledge, the large number of people and opinions involved, the significant economic burden, and the interconnected nature of these problems with other problems. The EDiT team has a multidisciplinary skillset and approaches wicked problems from multiple angles, taking into account technology, user needs, business models, legal considerations, security, and privacy. My role at the EDiT department was to generate new ideas and secure grants and funds to support the department's research and innovation efforts. This meant identifying promising opportunities and finding the resources needed. By providing colleagues with the support they need to pursue their ideas and projects, I contributed to the overall impact and success of the department.

In Zebra Academy we believe our patients are at the centre of our innovation. Our eHealth ecosystem (ICT platforms and connected devices) provides patients with the optimal tools for pre-, in- and post-hospital telecare. Although now I remain as an advisor, during the first three years, I fully led the technological developments of the start-up. I also closed a €300K research agreement with ViaSat for the development of a satellite commutation eHealth platform. I also led the closing of two EU SME grants: Fi-Ware (€150K, 3% success rate) and SME phase I (€70K, 8% success rate). As part of a cross-functional consortium, I played a key role in a project focused on developing and clinically validating an open eHealth ecosystem. This initiative aimed to transform healthcare practices in major hospitals in Brussels: UZBrussel, Saint-Luc, and Erasme. My responsibilities encompassed:Facilitating collaboration and fostering synergies among diverse stakeholders, including patients, doctors, researchers, and engineers, to identify novel opportunities and cutting-edge technologies.Coordinating external partners and effectively managing outsourced resources to ensure seamless integration and maximize project efficiency.Conducting multiple rigorous clinical trials to validate the efficacy and safety of the developed eHealth ecosystem, following ethical guidelines and collaborating closely with healthcare professionals.Analyzing project valorization, conducting stakeholders analysis, and performing market research to assess the potential impact and commercial viability of the eHealth ecosystem.Actively participating in project dissemination activities, including presenting research findings, publishing papers, and organizing workshops and conferences, to share knowledge, raise awareness, and foster collaboration within the healthcare community.Through my contributions, I made significant strides in advancing the development and clinical validation of the open eHealth ecosystem, driving positive change in healthcare delivery and outcomes.

Experienced as both a Project Manager and Associate Researcher, I had the opportunity to contribute to various projects for the European Space Agency. Some highlights of my past experience include:Managing international trials that focused on studying human responses in extreme environments, such as Bed Rest and Hypoxia studies (FEMMHUB, Slovenia) and Long-term isolation and hypoxic studies (COGNIPLOE, ESCOM, HASTE, Antarctica). These trials required coordinating teams across borders and ensuring the smooth execution of experiments.Playing an integral role in developing engineering methods and tools to model and quantify different biomarkers. These advancements significantly enhanced our understanding of how extreme environments affect human physiology.Writing scientific and technical reports to summarize research findings and project outcomes. These reports served as valuable resources for internal stakeholders, external collaborators, and the wider scientific community.Contributing to the dissemination of results to promote knowledge sharing and collaboration within the scientific community. By effectively communicating our research outcomes, we fostered an environment of learning and exchange of ideas.My past experience as a Project Manager and Associate Researcher allowed me to make meaningful contributions to space exploration and the study of human adaptability in extreme environments.

Voxbone enables telephony applications such as conferencing and contact centres to receive phone calls. I spent nearly one year listening to our customers. Understanding their needs and translating them into solutions.

The European Foundation Centre is an association of foundations and corporate funders with members from across Europe and the globe. My role was managing the ICT infrastructure that gives support to a global community. It helps members, both individually and collectively, in their work to foster positive social change in Europe and beyond.
