From mid-2018 I worked on the development of an area scanner with a hardware-based dust and scratch removal system using infrared scanning. A prototype was successfully implemented by April 2019 as part of a funding project from the Bavarian program for the promotion of technology-oriented start-ups (BayTOU).About a year later, the hardware and software requirements for a marketable scan service were met. With the IR-Clean 2.0 version, since the end of 2021 the system has been able to process the entire range of slide color films through to Kodachrome automatically.
