Responsible for managing Operations for an Azure cloud service provider. Operations consists of a multi-team environment: Linux/Windows Cloud Services, Service Monitoring and Incident Response, Patching & Vulnerability Management, Contingency Planning/Disaster Recovery, Development and Automation, and Customer Support - many moving parts! Operations consists of a multi-team environment: Linux/Windows Cloud Services, Service Monitoring and Incident Response, Patching & Vulnerability Management, Contingency Planning/Disaster Recovery, Development and Automation, and Customer Support - many moving parts! It is my responsibility to oversee the Directors of these teams - helping them improve business processes, hit key team metrics, and accomplish their goals and the company's goals. I am ultimately responsible to keep "all of the plates spinning" with the overall goal of satisfied customers. Under my leadership Operations implemented Jira Service Desk during my first year. This tool has become essential for Operations by providing management workload visibility across all teams, task/project management for team members, team metric reporting/tracking, and customer help desk.I also function as a technical expert and cloud system architect enabling Operations and Project Hosts in general to benefit from the depth of my technical experience and capabilities. Following my advice Project Hosts has recently formed an Engineering group that will function in the role of providing technical expertise and leading the company in future technologies. This new group eliminates a significant bottleneck and will help to ensure that Project Hosts will develop products for the future.It is also important that Operations work closely with our Security Compliance team to ensure our cloud services maintain security compliance according to standards such as ISO-27001, HiTRUST, FedRAMP Moderate/High, and DoD IL4/5. We put a lot of effort into making sure our services are fully compliant by satisfying all security requirements, passing all security audits, and remediating any findings.It is my privilege to manage these awesome teams of talented individuals who, working together, have and will accomplish great things!
