As a Product Architect for our full retail offering and a Product Owner of our Cloud and Mobile POS offering, I am a major part of our product team with the CPO/CTO. My work is concentrated on the following areas:* Designing and ensuring continous development and implementation of our product strategy and road map.* Ensuring product architecture and design choices are aligned with our strategic pursues.* Ensuring product alignment in our organization, from development to marketing and sales, and customers of course.Amongst other, I have spend a lot of effort on - migrating our retail offering to the cloud as SaaS based on K8 and Azure. - drawing and implementing product strategies in the product team with the CPO/CTO. - ensuring our Mobile POS SaaS offering is executed and delivered, from cloud to app design and integration with existing solutions. - ensuring design and delivery of our SaaS emergency POS, ensuring retailers during e.g. cyber attacks. - designing specific solutions and creating backlog items for scrum teams. - hands-on coding and code reviewing. - building material for external communication. - assisting in sales efforts.

Early stage startup that did not succeed.We build marketing process tools - for securing brand consistency and supporting marketing departments collaboration across the whole business as well as franchises.Our solution is a purely web based SaaS, done in Angular and C# running in Azure cloud.It was originally build by off shore developers, which I took over and continued to develop along with handling dev ops and everything else regarding the product.

As head of POS Development, I have the responsibility of the overall POS (till) solution which involves both the solutions we deliver to our customers as well as the strategic development of our core product.I have full management responsibilities of our strong Danish development team as well as non-staff related management of our inhouse off-shore development team in Dhaka, Bangladesh. We are currently around 13 developers with the sole purpose of delivering the best POS system possible by satisfying both customer needs as well as modernizing and moving the product forward.My responsibilites revolve around * solving customer needs by ensuring the right designs and offerings, scoping and delivery.* ensuring the constant development of our product, steering it in the right direction using the right designs, technologies and people.* developing the team as developers as well as colleagues.Key impacts:* Ensured strong integration of off-shore development department, going from "them vs us" to just "us".* Successfully maintained high demanding customers with limited available resources, balancing the work to be done on customer projects, strategic projects and day-to-day maintenance.* Ensured our business strategy and vision was reflected in our development department.* Ensured the POS product road map reflected both the business' as well as the development department's needs and visions,All this in addition to my responsibilities as Head of Customer Development.

As head of custumer development I managed a software development team. We developed, maintained and modernized a 40 year old core product, while ensuring customer projects were delivered to the customers satisfaction.I played many roles in the company, but most of my time was spend on * customer communication,* designing solutions and ensuring quality and correctness of solutions on code level as well as,* administration, coordination and communication of tasks on a technical level,* and managing the dev team.I did still find some time to implement specific solutions myself.Main responsibilities:* Managed a team of 5-10 developers (local and off-shore, Bangladesh) to deliver solutions based on customer wishes and needs.* Led and executed complete development cycles: from analysing and designing solutions with customers, to implementing the solution, glueing it together and deliver it to the cusotmers satisfaction, along with post-delivery maintainance.* Assisted in core product management by developing, maintaining and executing strategic road maps.Key impacts:* Build and delivered multiple self service checkout solutions for Bauhaus SE and Carl's Jr, transforming our legacy POS system to become REST based and with a modern webbased front end, ensuring end-customers have an intuitive and quick checkout in the stores.* Ensured new large customer Matas received a modern and customized POS to their liking, by completely managing their whole backlog over multiple years with many thousands of hours of work.* Played a key part in driving and implementing the modernization of a large core product from a legacy C-program to a maintainable C++ solution with a solid core data structure, multiple API's including a webserver with REST, a web based front end and an end-to-end test framework for a new CI/CT pipeline. This has ensured that the complete development team could grow from ~7 to ~15 full time developers on the solution, along with a dedicated QA team.

I develop and maintain a large system, an omnichannel POS system, written mostly in C and C++, along with some minor parts in JavaScript. I am involved with and responsible for strategic decisions on technology, architecture and modernization of the current platform, and work with designing or redesigning solutions with a focus on delivery, modernization and maintainability.I have worked on extending the current platform with a webserver, REST API and internal script APIs via the V8-engine. The focus has been on designing and developing a generic and maintainable solution that is easily extendable. Furthermore I have worked on moving the solution from being sequential single threaded to many-threaded concurrent, as to support modern requirements.Furthermore, I have spend a lot of time designing and updating critical and fundamental data structures and designs in the source code base, and participated in great and important architectural decisions.I work in a Linux (CentOS 5-7) environment using Git (in Bitbucket) for version control and Jira for product management. For development I have mainly used gdb, Eclipse and various Linux tools.
