Accountability and General ExperienceAs Chemical Engineer and Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department for Gulf States Engineering, Mr. Griffith is responsible for all process system design and mechanical department staffing resources.Mr. Griffith has over 30 years’ experience in the process chemical industry with a variety of experience within his tenure with Honeywell UOP. This experience includes process design with capital management responsibility, technology research and development in product development, and manufacturing process support.Mr. Griffith served with a major university to develop curriculum, course objects, and teach specialized concepts of chemical plant operations to Saudi Arabians learning to become chemical plant operators.At Gulf States Engineering, Mr. Griffith’s process experience has been applied to both the chemical industry (IKO, EKA, Mobile Rosin Oil) and the steel industry (SAAB) in the design, check-out and start-up of equipment and process instrumentation. His understanding of the requirement for precision and attention to detail has added great depth to GSE’s capabilities.

Production Engineer in the Adsorbents, Intermediates and Catalyst supporting the manufacturing of molecular sieves at the Mobile, AL facility.• Developed a PowerPoint presentation covering unit operations, operating parameters, equipment operation, QA testing, and process flow diagrams for Intermediates, Catalyst, and Adsorbents I. Training sessions with new hires and current employees were completed. A comprehensive test was given to evaluate presentation effectiveness.• Developed training tools to use in training production technicians and maintenance about the process and operation of the new Ammonium Sulfate Plant. Lead the startup effort for the new ammonium sulfate process. Lead effort to train technicians in the catalyst unit for Abscents, CT-2 and CT-2040 and lead the start-up of each unit emphasizing the unit operations common to each area. • Actively supported the Catalyst major capital projects to insure safety, operability and capability were achieved. • Worked with Capital group to implement the Class A furnace for EBZ-500 on Line 6 and on the High Temp dryer to meet new safety requirements. • Improved RAM yield and equipment performance providing $442K net savings compared to the previous production run. • Implemented best practices and training documents for technicians. • Put together team and plans for check-out and commissioning of Line 6 revamp pulling the schedule back 17 days to meet business demands. • Developed training program and documentation for the line 6 revamp and trained technicians for the start-up. • Successful Start-up of the line 6 revamp for EBZ-100 and EBZ-500.

Research and Development responsible for development of process technology to produce new or improved products. Resulting in the award of one patent for gas purification. Products and Projects: HiSiv 1000, H-16, N-2B, N-2X, N-2 Activation, Kiln and Dryer models, Y-Outsource Reduction project which was presented at the Quest for Excellence, LiX cost reduction, OxySiv 7, IX DOT, MSM Feeders, OxySiv MDX, OxySiv MDX-C, P-505 agitator seal, KE-J 407, KE-J 410, Blue M Oven Explosion, Minugel clay replacement.

Process Design Engineering with Capital Management with oversight on projects ranging from $2 Million to $12 Million. Successfully designed, installed and started up each project on time and under budget.Major projects: Process design engineering including PFDs, heat and material balances, heat transfer calculations, fluid flow design and pump sizing, instrumentation application and selection, tank and vessel sizing for maintaining cycle times, P&IDs, and specification data sheets for equipment as part of the overall process design responsibility. Inspected equipment before shipment, followed construction to insure design conditions were met. Wrote and reviewed SOPs, planned and conducted equipment start-up and technician training for the following: • N-1 Recovery: Evaporator and Separation to recover LiCl• Molex Improvement: Installed new dryer and indirect heaters to improve performance of Molex. • IX Decouple: Automated solution make-up and storage, separation system, new dryer and indirect heaters, and automated packaging equipment to improve product performance and increase the rate across the line.• Mobile Process Intermediates: Separation equipment, drying and product collection, storageand filtration, re-slurry capability, and automated packaging system.
