- Primarily worked as engineering support for the development of lacrosse and baseball equipment- Aided other groups within the company with engineering support for a multitude of products- Used computer simulation and computer optimization tools to inform design decisions. Reducing development time, development cost, and producing lighter, better performing components than through traditional development processes methods Key Projects:AlphaBounce Created, tested and documented a material that can be heat treated in specific zones, enabling a one-piece construction while having areas of differing stiffness’, providing performance benefits, comfort, reduced part count, and reduced manufacturing cost. Resulted in the Forgedmesh patent used in the production of the AlphaBounce line of shoes. Lacrosse Head Design Process: Recommended and utilized computer simulation and optimization in providing detailed information for the design direction, presenting details to the team on effectiveness, which resulted in creating a lacrosse head where the structure was completely ‘optimized’ for maximum stiffness and lightest weight, achieving team consensus for the creation of the redesigned head. Vacuum Formed Protective Gear: Worked on a project with the Hard Goods team developing a new manufacturing method for protective gear, turning the lengthy process of stitching and stuffing for protective gear, such as lacrosse and hockey gloves, into a one step process, significantly reducing production time and cost. Patent is pending on this process. Reduced Weight in Current Basketball Plate: Was recognized by the Athlete Services team for optimization work and recruited to help advise on plates being produced in custom shoes for adidas athletes. Utilized computer simulation and optimization, recommending material to be removed and added on the existing design resulting in a 20% weight reduction and higher stiffness part.
