I was responsible for policy development, program planning, budget management, administration, and operational direction of the Planning and Community Development Departmental functions. I was also responsible for accomplishing departmental objectives and goals within guidelines established by the City Council and Safety & Service Director. Additionally, I served as the City of Greenville's Floodplain Administrator since November 2013, and administered the complete and thorough permitting process for all development in SFHAs.

I initially served as entry level technician performing tasks under the direction of P.E. Steve Nixon. Over time I gained considerable responsibility as a project manager responsible for construction plans of capital improvement projects from primary design to actual field implementation under P.E. Joy F. Rodenburgh. I requested budget allocations, prepared project estimates, communicated with various divisions of government, performed manual fieldwork and efficiently made use of finite resources in order to satisfy the particular requirements of a given situation. I also served as the acting stormwater representative as the City of Greenville worked to satisfy Ohio EPA requirements in facilitating an NPDES permit and provided owners with knowledge on best management practices for stormwater discharge.In addition to my project responsibilities, my office also functioned as the Planning & Zoning Department where I was responsible for interpreting the Zoning Ordinance to the public as well as aiding them through applicable permit processes and performing manual field inspections. While working towards my degree in urban affairs, I began performing plan review in accordance to the City's comprehensive plan and subdivision regulations in addition to standard engineering review. I became involved in the long-term economic planning of CDBG funds, where we utilized grant money to assist in our maintenance of aging infrastructure.

My responsibilities mainly consisted of assisting in the land surveying process for private individuals, business owners and municipal governments in addition to drafting their results into professional plans for P.E./P.S. Jerry R. Garrison while working towards my degree at Sinclair Community College. Upon completion of my education I was hired full-time and served as an Associate Designer where I became responsible for full project management.
