An MBA level bigger picture professional who was awarded a Certificate of Excellence as one of Top Global Leaders of Finance in 2024. My skills include corporate strategy, financial engineering and negotiation. I am active in private equity, venture capital, fintech, real estate, technology, energy and immersive experiences whilst having a strong interest in the EMENA region, sovereign wealth funds and family offices.I have been entrusted with several C-level positions in both the public and private sector, including CEO Malta Government Investments, a holding company with a portfolio equal to €400 million. At MGI I set up of a network of sovereign wealth funds in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa with an estimated investment potential equal to $700-850 billion in the region where I held the position of the first COO. The members include Bpifrance, COFIDES (Spain), The Growth Fund of Greece, MGI and The Sovereign Fund of Egypt. In addition the Kuwait Investment Authority signed a Declaration of Endorsement. I have also held the positions of Director General (Financial Policy & Management) within the Ministry for Finance and Chief Co-ordinator, Census of Population and Housing in addition to having gained extensive experience at EU level, including Member of the Financial Services Committee and the Tax Policy Group. Recently I was approved as a real estate investment expert by the European Investment Bank for a project that I working on with a group of experts.My role as an Independent Non-Executive Director includes sitting on the subsidiaries of an S&P 500 technology company, a leading provider of energy solutions in Africa, immersive experiences and a trade finance facility. I also advice an international group which is applying for a PSP license.I am also Head of Operations of a pan European real estate and hospitality group. I chair the Maltese Turkish Business Council and Co-Chair of the Real Estate & Urban Development Chapter of the World Association of Public Private Partnerships. In 2023 I founded the Private Equity and Venture Capital Association Malta of which I am Secretary General and Member of the Board of Administrators. The association currently has over 70 members/applicants.I also assist with the organisation of institutional investor fora at global events and I am a professional international speaker and moderator.
