Focus was on both green and finished product, as the mill processes both through a combined line. Worked with maintenance to ensure the line runs optimally, as well as communicating with the manufacturer support team when complex situations were presented. As part of a green belt project, was investigating quality vs. savings on reducing sawing variation.

Lead a team of 15 people, all new to sawmill work. Responsible for the safety of 26 people overall as well as $40 million in capital equipment. Worked on continuous improvement projects from decreasing downtime to better lock out/tag out processes.

Ability to operate any equipment in the mill as needed, filling in for breaks or absentees. Look for and resolve problems that may arise before and during the shift, from mechanical to manpower, seeking help when needed.Fill in as supervisor when needed, ensuring an overall crew of 26 workers can complete assigned tasks.
