•Responsible for the supply of all raw material to site. •Procurement of materials and contract negotiation with suppliers to ensure competitive programs and agreements are in place to meet production requirements.•Investigate sources of supply to construct innovative supply strategies that continually improve the security, quality and consistency of supply.•Monitor the wider produce market to assess present and future material availabilities and implement purchasing contingencies as required.•Visit suppliers to ensure all critical points in crop development are monitored and recorded to proactively mitigate supply risks and challenges.•Relay information relevant to material to all applicable teams to ensure uninterrupted production to meet gross margin / budget.•Develop, implement, monitor and review purchasing and contract management policies, and procedures to ensure buying teams are utilising optimal materials and services at all times.•Work with site operations to identify and execute opportunities for improving the profitability of products, without compromising quality and safety.•Work with suppliers to improve their performance against key business objectives - DIFOT and material performance vs. cost.•Facilitate distribution of material between sites on a national level to ensure maximum order fulfilment is attained within the wider business.•Partake as a member of the site steering team to identify, drive and meet business objectives.•Ensure all contracted growers comply to Site Quality Management Systems (Supplier approval processes, raw material specifications, packaging, and delivery methods) by conducting good agricultural practice (GAP) audits and risk assessments.•Participate as a member of the site HACCP team to ensure site operational processes meet required food safety standards.•Present new trends and products to the New Product Development team to present to customers ensuring competitive advantage of product range is maintained.
