He also enjoys contributing individually on tough technical challenges, augmenting or leading client teams, sourcing expertise for specific needs, conducting design reviews and brainstorming. At Calypso Medical, he helped develop a complex system for tracking soft tissue tumors in real time during radiation treatment. As V.P. of Product Development at Softbook Press, he helped create the world’s first, and second generation of eBook readers. He also led the development of an integrated image based 3-D tracking system, and maintained FDA compliant design process and documentation. He helped launch the first notebooks and sub-notebooks Apple ever made, and drove the engineering of the DuoDocks and accessories from concept to ramp in 14 months, directing a team of 11 engineers and consultants. He drove the concept, and managed the design of the ergonomic "split" keyboard that became the Apple Adjustable Keyboard. He invented and prototyped a force feedback, three axis mouse (before mouse wheels existed), and managed the development and design of the interface software. Matt was granted seven Apple patents.
