Since launching his first venture at 19, Herty has been consistently on the entrepreneurial path. From manufacturing doors to importing computers, his early endeavours led him to the tech field. By 30, he was already an early adopter of angel investing, even before its global popularity.In 2007, after establishing six businesses and preparing the exit of three, Herty turned his focus to angel investing. One notable venture is Ridango, a global public transport ticketing company.Herty also co-founded Startup Wise Guys, recognized as the world's top accelerator. Over the past 11 years, the team has invested in 400+ startups, resulting in 15 successful exits across Europe and Africa.Herty honed his academic expertise at the Estonian Business School (EBS), where he explored incubator development in his Bachelor's thesis, and delved into startup financing during his Executive MBA. In 2021, he further refined his knowledge by joining the Kaupfman Fellows in Silicon Valley, focusing on venture capital.Currently, Herty is spearheading new initiatives at Startup Wise Guys. He started the Young Entrepreneurs Summer School in Tallinn in 2019 to nurture high-schoolers' entrepreneurial skills, which now hosts 500+ online students and two physical campuses. In 2022, he launched the Founders Club to support experienced professionals transitioning into entrepreneurship. Presently, he's preparing for the debut of the latest Startup Wise Guys offering, the Fund as a Service.Outside of work, Herty is a founding member of EstBan, ex-president of the Estonian Startup Founders Society, and an active Estonian Family Business Union member. His career signifies a continuous journey of entrepreneurship, investing, and fostering the next generation of innovators.
