PhD Dissertation: Formulation Development, optimization and assessment of Self-Emulsifying Drug Delivery System (SEDDS) Containing Long Chain Lipids (LCL)• Cytotoxicity assessment and permeability studies of lipid excipients and formulations using the caco-2 cell model. • Studies on the phase-behaviour of lipid-surfactant systems by constructing pseudo-ternary phase diagrams and identification of suitable microemulsion regions. Studies involving in-vitro characterization and particle size analysis of the different phases formed by these systems. • Comparative Evaluation of digestible and non-digestible lipids (glyceryl monooleate and oleic acid) for their self-emulsifying behaviour, drug loading and drug dispersion patterns in various dissolution media.• Studies involving dispersion testing of microemulsion preconcentrates loaded with poorly-water soluble weakly basic drugs and the effect of bile salts on dispersion of the microemulsion pre-concentrates, drug release pattern and permeation properties of the formulation on caco-2 cell monolayer.

M. Pharm Dissertation: Development and Validation of Analytical Methods for the simultaneous determination of Timolol Maleate and Brimonidine Tartrate • Successfully developed and validated three UV Spectrophotometric Methods, an RP-HPLC method and an HPTLC method for the simultaneous quantitative estimation of Timolol Maleate and Brimonidine Tartrate in physical mixture and in commercially available eyedrops Combigan® by Allergan. • All the developed methods accurately determined the drug content in physical mixtures as well as commercial formulation and there was no significant difference (at p<0.05) between the methods shown by one-way ANOVA.
