-Assist in the creation, planning, and scheduling of various programs offered by the parks and recreation department.-Answer phones and provide excellent customer service to guests who come in to sign up for recreation programs.-Create flyers for programs and attend events to aid in growing the brand of parks and recreation, while making members of the community aware of what the parks and recreation department has to offer.-Serve as the supervisor at the gyms for programs that are being held at the basketball courts or in other rooms at the facility.-Serve as the supervisor for the basketball league to ensure that the league and games are running to schedule without any issues. -Started as a 90-hour practicum that turned into a part-time role due to my hard work in the position.-Executed the setup and teardown of six JMU volleyball games. ~This included setting up and taking down the volleyball net, scorer’s table, media stand, chairs, and tables. Also responsible for pulling the bleachers back and replacing the floor mats.-Help setup and teardown the main gates and signage at four JMU football games. ~This included moving the metal detectors, divesting tables, windscreens, parking barricades, etc.-Some experience working at club gymnastics meets, club and NCAA swim meets, as well as tennis matches.-Assisted teams in locating any materials that they need for the particular event.-Coordinate with my supervisor about tasks that need to be done around the facility, and make sure that these tasks get completed in a timely manner.
