Provide strategic advice to the Executive Manager Communications and Engagement, senior staff, business areas and Councilors on the use of online communication and engagement tools such as social media platforms, mobile apps, blogs and websitesIdentify opportunities for other senior advisors to include social media and web communications within their communications and engagement plans and work with them to ensure success. Increase the awareness, understanding and appreciation across all levels of the organization of digital communications and engagement tools such as websites, social media and mobile apps.Supervise and support the Online Communications Officer in maintaining the City of Boroondara’s central website and social media platforms - Facebook, Twitter and Youtube. Managing contracts and budget related to online tools and services such as social media monitoring tools, website hosting and software required by the Communications and Engagement team. Manage and support a small team of three, the Web Editor, Graduate Web Journalist and Trainee Web Editor. Implement strategies relating to online content management and social mediaManage and support the web officer managing the day to day maintenance of the City of Boroondara’s website and social media channels, as well as the internal communications officer managing the intranet and internal Yammer platform. Advise business areas on the development of online solutions Review and manage Council’s online information architecture Ensure web content complies with corporate standards, legislative and statutory requirements, web standards and guidelines for usability and accessibility Report on web statistics and results of user-testing with Boroondara’s target audiences
