As a social worker I have offered support to families who were facing poverty, parenting difficulties, immigration challenges, drug abuse, domestic violence and more. My aim was to improve the families functioning by strengthening their independence, assist them to know their rights, assist and support with parenting difficulties, and protect the ones that were unable to care for themselves (e.g. children, people with disabilities).
