I hit the ground running after completing my course at Inverness College, starting work with a local groundworks contractor on the Isle of Skye. Eyre Plant Hite had recently secured a contract on the island, working on a two water treatment works, service reservoir/water tank and 5km pipeline. I worked here for 6 months, working closely with the site engineer, plant operators, tradesmen to gain as much experience as possible during the project. In the year I worked here, I had the privilege of working with a multitude of trades men and women from all corners of the housebuilding sector.
