They is proficient in Spanish. Colleagues describe them as "Hillary's path with Red Bull began as the Culture Marketing summer intern reporting to me out of our Business Unit offices in Chicago. The steps necessary to become an intern at Red Bull are quite daunting and there is a very dynamic competition among some of the best and brightest college students from some of the top regional Universities to even make it to the interview process. Through the interview process and case study presentation, Hillary exhibited an intelligence, advanced level of critical thinking and natural intuition on the brand, our consumer base, and how to best reach them.
Throughout the summer, Hillary assisted me and the Culture marketing team in driving the development of innovative cultural activity and reinforcing Red Bull’s image through Red Bull Branded Events, Key Third Party Events and Opinion Leader Programs. Through these experiences, Hillary was able to develop a better understanding of our key Culture Marketing strategies and approaches, had first-hand experience planning and executing events, and was responsible for developing new relationships with Key Chicago artists, musicians and scene makers.
Hillary impressed me with her unwavering work ethic, her drive to build new and better concepts and her ability to make strong connections with very important and influential Opinion Leaders. Perhaps one of her most unique traits is her journalistic approach to marketing. The type of marketing Red Bull engages in can't be executed from behind a laptop and is completely reliant on real "in-the-field" acumen and an ability to credibly engage with creatives from a variety of backgrounds and personality types. Hillary was incredibly adept at imbedding herself in key core communities and developing credible and authentic relationships, partnerships and concepts.
In addition to her intellect, professional capabilities and work ethic, Hillary has a wonderful personality and added a charm and wit that was greatly appreciated in our offices. She is a bright talent with a lofty future ahead of her and if (big if) Red Bull were to ever let her leave, she would make a dynamic and important addition to any company or organization.", "Hillary has been an outstanding and valued employee of Red Bull North America, working for us as a Student Brand Manager and Culture Marketing Internship since June of 2014. She has a spotless work record and I have been consistently impressed and pleased with her performance. In our Northwest Chicagoland market, we have over 9 million consumers we aim to reach with a heavy focus on the collegiate consumer; Hillary has played a large part in the strategic marketing efforts we develop and innovate in order to reach these consumers, specifically at Northwestern, proving her value to the Red Bull consumer collecting program.
Hillary has lead an astonishingly high volume of collegiate activations, being in the field, on campus at Northwestern, and through being the local face of a global brand. At a Tier 1 campus such as Northwestern, the Student Brand Manager position is an extremely high stakes job, and one that only the most qualified and best candidates are given the responsibility, trust, and respect to execute. Hillary has proven that she is a natural leader amongst her counterparts, constantly developing her leadership as well as her ability to flawlessly execute the Red Bull field marketing strategy.
Some of the larger activations she has driven at the collegiate level include Red Bull Paper Wings - Northwestern Qualifier, support of Red Bull branded events by identifying and activating around highly localized and campus specific opportunities, and a multitude of third party event support on campus, including Northwestern Wildhacks, Northwestern Dance Marathon, and Dillo Day, to name a few. She has also owned a partnership with EPIC, an entrepreneurship program on campus, identifying a "need to know" campus group and driving that relationship.
Additionally, Hillary has played a vital role in the recruitment and hiring process for her replacement once she graduates, as well as potential Wings Team Members, assisting with the rigorous selection of only the best and most highly qualified candidates. She has helped these potential Team Members be identified, selected, and coached once they are hired, ensuring the premium quality of the team is kept as such.
Her amicable personality, drive to perform, leadership, and strategic marketing efforts have proven her to be a model employee. I am pleased to fully endorse her in all of her professional endeavors.", and "From day one, Hillary has brought great energy and enthusiasm to her role as an account management intern. Hillary has a wonderful curiosity and ability to really excel in a team environment. She’s clearly fascinated by consumer insights, cultural trends, and the impact advertising can have on people. She’s hard working, a quick learner, and just a pleasure to work with." Not my words… the words of her supervisor at mcgarrybowen, one of the finest agencies in the business. I was proud to be Hillary's faculty advisor and am pleased to recommend her to anyone looking for someone with unlimited potential."
