Specialist

Greater Atlanta Area

I started at Apple on Oct. 1, 2010 as a part time Specialist. I worked to build relationships, create owners and enrich the lives of Apple's customers. I joined the Visuals team as soon as I was done training and formed a close bond with my peers while working overnights to keep the store looking beautiful. After 4 months in sales I became more interested in operations and in Feb. 2011 I made my transition to Back of House Specialist. I worked to support the goals of accuracy and shrink by completing daily counts, organizing product and researching logistics. In Jun. 2011 I became full time and took on managing the budget for non-inventory supplies and by Sept. 2011 I was leading the Visuals team I had been a member of for the year prior. As Visuals Lead I guided, recruited and trained a team of 17 Visuals Specialists to maintain brand image. I developed a strategy for daily implementation and maintenance of company standard and improved communication within our team.I continued working in Back of House and leading the Visuals team until Apple created a new position in its retail stores called Preservation & Operations Specialist. On Sept. 1, 2012 I was chosen for this position by my Leadership team. This role encompassed everything I'd already been doing and then some. I supported the store and team around brand excellence with a focus on FoH and BoH preservation and team task completion, prioritized preservation issues, acted as a liaison between vendors and market support and completed daily operational tasks to ensure smooth running of the store by supporting administrative duties with the Leadership team.I worked in Preservation & Operations until Jun. 2013 at which time I made my transition back to Specialist so that I could become a better marketer. While I still built relationships, created owners and enriched lives, I also learned why people shop the way they do, what interests them and how they react to product messaging, design and packaging.

Classroom Tech Support/ Web Content Support Intern

New Castle, Delaware

In Aug. 2008, between my sophomore and junior year of undergraduate school, I found the Classroom Technology Support position on campus. I was studying Multimedia Design and Communications and this position was the perfect hands-on learning experience to the more technical side of my degree. In this position I was responsible for the functionality of the classroom technology in 5 buildings around the New Castle, campus. I provided on-call assistance to answer questions that any faculty member or student had regarding the benefits of having access to the university’s equipment, assisted in the preparation of all school events by troubleshooting any changes and upgrades to equipment prior to implementing into a ‘live’ environment, documented issues and resolutions for future reference, input equipment reservations into databases and made sure all duties and reservations were carried out in a timely, professional manner. Towards the middle of my senior year I took on Web Content Support as an Intern under the same department, Technology Support. I worked in Dreamweaver to keep the University’s department and college information current, assisted in updating and replacing templates for web pages and followed up with department heads to ensure updates were accurate. I still worked as a Classroom Tech, as well, but now I had responsibility at the New Castle and Wilson Graduate Center campuses. Shortly after I graduated in Dec. 2009, I resigned and moved to Georgia.
