Hi! I'm Hillary and I am curious, passionate, and love to help others achieve their goals. My father once told me, "if you find a job you love you will never work a day in your life." At the time, around the age of ten or eleven, I brushed it off because I had already figured out what I wanted to be for the rest of my life: a) an astronaut or b) a princess. Being young with plethora of imagination I figured I would be the right candidate for either of these job positions and they both came with cool outfits. I later found out that the first job required a massive amount of training in specialized facilities which were no where to be found within my home state of Montana. As for the second job, the United States doesn't exactly have princesses so I was out of luck in that regard. As I grew up, becoming wiser in the ways of the world, I began working in the service industry. I fell in love with helping people and excelled in customer service, communication, and team work. Though I valued my time working in the service industry, I realized I needed to find a different occupation where I could utilize the pivotal skills I learned. It would also be a major advantage if most of my clothing didn't smell like food all the time. It was around this time that I began studying Human Resource Management at Portland State University. I was extremely fortunate to find a major in which I could use the skills I loved. I am happy to say I found my passion and look forward to helping both companies and employees achieve organizational and performance goals whilst maintaining a work life balance. Recently I became an HR Intern at Income Property Management which has allowed me to utilized my knowledge of HR practices I learned through my studies at PSU. I am also currently gaining hands on experience with on-boarding, interviews, performance management, filing, payroll, selection, recruitment, benefits, and rewards. I am excited to see where my curiosity, passion, and love for helping others takes me within this area of expertise.
