Legal and policy work under the Pension, Employment, and Administrative Law streams has allowed me to delve into the structure, form and content of complex and reticulated policy suites. I thrive amidst challenges such as supporting organizations with policy conundrums, legislative changes and consequent implications, and sifting through complex or technical legal and policy-related documentation. Over the last fifteen years, I have harnessed my experiences in policy analysis, statutory interpretation, research, and writing -- let me not forget academia and motherhood -- to build an extensive set of professional skills. Though I have often left and re-entered the workforce over the last 22 years, it has always been to further my academic aspirations or to do the most gratifying of jobs--striving to be a good mother! And I find strength in sharing this with you on my professional profile. Motherhood gave me the strength to complete my graduate degree while I was expecting my first child. It is also what motivated me to study the law in my fourth language and travel five hours from home to do so...all while being away from my two toddlers.I am a former multisport athlete and Quebec Division 1 college basketball player (2000-01), as well as an ardent promoter of quality education for student-athletes. In August of 2020, I launched "Underrated No More," a writing program for middle schoolers. The initiative teaches participants to appreciate the power of words; build their vocabularies; and understand, analyze and highlight underrated skills in sports. A future goal of mine is to help improve access to justice for student-athletes in the areas of Sports Law and Sports Mediation. As well, to provide legal support to women and girls fighting to escape impending or carried-out forced marriages.I thank you for taking the time to read the above--please feel free to connect.
