For many years I worked in New York City. I’ve held various administrative positions with several different companies. I consider myself fortunate that I was able to take a leave of absence from all of that while I raised my children. That doesn’t mean I was sitting at home all day. I’m the type of person who joined the PTO and got involved in all kinds of things. At work I planned events for corporate executives; here I planned gift auctions. I traded in the fancy parties for running the concession stand for football games on Friday nights & honestly, I wouldn’t change a thing. As my kids grew older I created a balance where I worked part time but was still able to be involved with them & their schools. I secured a job with Chartwells as a Food Service Worker & ran their lunch program successfully for 5 years. I enjoyed that type of work so much, that I ended up taking a job over the summers with Live Nation as a Backstage Catering Assistant. Eventually I needed more work hours so I left food service and went to work as a Teacher's Aid. Unfortunately, enrollment went down & my job was eliminated after 2 years. In 2013 I moved from Live Nation to Aramark (& then Legends) because I was guaranteed more shifts. I truly enjoyed working along side my team members and loved the customer service aspect of it. In 2014 I started a working as a secretary for Middletown Township in the Office of Emergency Management. As a part time position with set hours, this job allows me the flexibility to work other jobs.In September of 2018 I decided to end my time at Legends. I'm happy to say that in less than a week I was able to secure an Usher position at The Count Basie Center for the Arts. This new part time job is year round & offers more flexibility. I look forward to working there for many years and I'm excited to see all the new things the Basie has to offer.
