About Hirohide Takahashi

For over 10 years, I have been working on the biophysics of membrane proteins and biological membranes using cryogenic electron microscopy (CryoEM), and atomic force microscopy (AFM). I have extensive experience working and interacting with various colleagues who have a wide range of academic and cultural backgrounds.I have a passion for gaining broad experience in structural biology, membrane protein purification, biological membranes, biochemical experiments, biophysical assay development, teaching activities, data analysis, and critical thinking.Techniques:● Cryo-EM of membrane proteins (including TF20, Glacios operation)● Purification of Membrane proteins, Toxin proteins, and Cytoskeletal proteins (Akta, Ion exchange, Membrane protein purification with Nanodisc)● Protein characterization (SEC-MALS, FSEC, CD spectra, Membrane protein reconstitution, etc.)● DNA plasmid engineering, mutagenesis● Protein expression in the insect, mammalian, and E. coli cells● Atomic force microscopy imaging of membrane proteins and lipid transfer proteins● Protein unfolding experiment using force spectroscopy● Assay development and analysisSoft skills:● Teaching science to undergraduate and high school students● Executing and organizing international collaborations
