Responsibilities include equipment maintenance, water management, animal care, collaborate on experiments, respond to alarms after hours, and assist with administrative tasks. It is a shift work (7days on/7 days off) and often requires working on site alone.

Provide day to day husbandry of Chinook salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) in RAS including feeding, managing water quality, system cleaning and maintenance and monitoring animal welfare. Responsibility included experimental setup, stock assessments, data and sample collection.

Weekend duties required to maintain Cawthron aquaculture systems and activities including pond management, microalgae production, assist experiments and data collection that included working with Pacific oysters, GreenshellTM mussels, New Zealand scampi, and New Zealand geoduck.
