Train rising school leaders to:* Appreciate the influence of family and cultural heritage on the worldviews of themselves and others, as well as, identify and manage conflict resolution styles differences.* Become more confident in the negotiation process and apply negotiation skills to mediation. In addition to equipping them with a variety of strategies for their conflict management toolbox.* Consider specific strategies for enhancing the conflict management skills of the students and adults in their school, while assessing the value of adding restorative justice practices.

* Work collaboratively with assigned faculty to design and delivery a robust curriculum. * Responsible for responding to students’ emails about course assignments, as well as, providing feedback on assignments.* Administering, analyzing, and debriefing faculty on daily survey results in order to create a more effective learning environment.

As an Application Reviewer, I play an integral part in ensuring strong leaders are in classrooms with our kids to accelerate and impact their academic and personal growth. I am one of the first people to review applications from a diverse set of applicants during our First Review process. I am responsible for making strong decisions about who will advance to an interview and will inform interviewers with robust notes to ensure they are selecting leaders who will work alongside all of us in pursuit of expanded opportunities for students and systems change.

*Support the customer success team in creating high-quality, engaging learning experiences aligned to NGSS for high school science teachers across New Mexico.*Design and facilitate professional development sessions for New Mexico’s Science Dream Team (24 teachers from across the state selected by the New Mexico Public Education Department).*Supervise three state instructional coaches and 12 cornerstone curriculum projects which will be launched statewide during the 2019-2020 SY.

* Develop New Generation Science Standard (NGSS) science curriculum maps.* Generate content aligned lessons with accompanying transcript differentiated by Lexile levels. * Create audio and video recordings for each of the differentiated lesson segments. * Write aligned depth of knowledge formative assessments for each of the lesson segments. * Validate that the enhanced Student Complexity Framework and the multi-faceted teacher dashboard produce the desired outcome of further boosting student engagement and learning in Science.

* Train and provide on-site supervision of professional staff including College Readiness Specialists, tutorial staff, program interns, student workers, and volunteers.* Manage a multimillion-dollar budget annually, requiring monthly reconciliations for operating, travel, salaries, and benefits, as well as a state issues tax-exempt procurement card.* Report annually to the Department of Education on the five specified grant objectives ranging from yearly attrition and rigorous course enrollment to postsecondary enrollment and completion.* Coordinate recruitment, identification, and selection of the required number of verified program participants, as well as, coordinate assessment of students' interests, needs, and goals and develop meaningful curriculum and services to meet the needs of program participants.* Design and implement student programming in areas such as educational opportunities, financial aid, career exploration, motivation, and self-awareness through workshops, individual counseling, and classroom presentations. * Coordinate completion of applications for post-secondary education, summer academic enrichment camps, financial aid, scholarships, etc. * Design and implement parent workshops in a variety of areas such as financial aid, planning for college, study skills, summer enrichment, etc. * Coordinate multiple programs including mentoring (with college students and/or alumni), tutoring, re-entry, parent outreach, and/or after school programs.* Work collaboratively with RGV Lead, RGV Focus, Educate Texas, and the P-16 Council.

* Coordinate weekly team meetings over the progress of all students, as well as, creating individualized intervention plans for students of concern. * Facilitate instructional round debriefs with the team of teachers over individualized problems of practice formulated by the department of focus. * Proactively plan with the team on school-wide events, initiatives, and required systems and procedures. * Set ambitious goals and invested students and families around those goals.* Create a powerful learning environment by establishing a space that promotes purposeful learning and is built upon a culture of hard work and high expectations.* Deliver rigorous instruction by integrating literacy strategies to increase student achievement not only in my content area but in all content areas. * Use assessment data, including historical data, diagnostics, and ongoing assessments to drive instructional planning and delivery decisions. While providing individual and collective remediation, targeted re-teaching based on assessment data, and modifying instruction and providing accommodations based upon my student’s needs.

* Facilitate all campus professional development through a 3-week observation cycle beginning with the whole staff, differentiated math/science and English/history, and finishing the cycle with individualized departmental meetings. * Power walk through 15 teachers weekly providing observational feedback and real-time coaching. Each observational cycle focuses on a varying strategy or area of concern as identified during the observations. * Coordinate additional professional development opportunities for teachers to showcase their strengths in the classroom. Teacher PLC sessions focus on systems and procedures, formative assessments, behavioral management, rigor and levels of questioning, as well as the four main literacy areas (Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing). * Coordinate with the Dean of Instruction on the purchasing of instructional supplies.* Analyze departmental data and create specific action plans to increase student mastery.* Coach and develop all teachers within my department through the organization of a Professional Learning Community and Observational Rounds.

Rio Grande Valley

* Lead monthly professional development sessions to over 50 first and second science corps members who range from 6th grade Earth Science to 12th grade AP/IB Biology and Physics. * Responsible for creating targeted content sessions that aid in the teachers overall development, covering topics from college-level laboratory reports to implementing more effective student progress monitoring through the use of classroom and individual student trackers.* Coach struggling teachers through on going video observation cycles that focus not only on teacher input but student output.

* Lead a team of teachers to reach ambitious student achievement and persistence goals. * Responsible for building team culture, coordinating parent contact, and problem-solving team discipline issues.* Coached and developed all teachers on the 9th-grade team and organized peer-to-peer professional development. * Served as the grade level liaison to the school leadership team. * Planned purposeful and rigorous instruction through the use of IDEA’s standards and curriculum as the core driver of instructional planning and delivery.* Analyzed student performance data to intervene and adjust instruction on a daily basis.

Rio Grande Valley

* Selected from approximately 46, 359 applicants nationwide to join a national teacher corps of recent college graduates who commit two years to teach in low-income public schools. * Ranked as one of the Top 50 Math and Science Corps members out of more than 2800 accepted STEM corps members.* Participated in an intensive training program to develop the skills and knowledge needed to achieve significant gains in student achievement. * Taught in a summer school program run by Teach For America for students in Houston public schools under the supervision of a faculty of experienced teachers. * Engaged in a full schedule of professional development activities, including seminars, discussion groups, workshops, individual and group reflections, readings, and learning teams specific to my teaching license area.
