Reporting directly to the CEO and Board of Directors.Core responsibilities: Providing strategic policy analysis and advice on all environmental policy and planningprocesses on behalf of the pork industry. Undertaking research and data analysis to update environmental statistics and reporting for the pork industry. Providing expert advice to management, industry stakeholders and central and local government agencies on environmental issues impacting the pork industry.Identifying, implementing, and managing research projects to support the environmental strategy of NZ Pork.Representing NZ Pork at external working groups and committees.Developing and maintaining strong relationships and networks across the pork industry and wider stakeholders, including within central and local government.Mentoring junior staff members.

Amberley And Christchurch

Responsible for end-to-end management of regional and national pest management programmes seeking to improve biodiversity and productivity outcomes by reducing the spread of pests. Key responsibilities: Providing regular and effective communication to stakeholders to aid understanding of the principals of pest management, the Biosecurity Act 1993 and Regional Pest Management Plans. Generating resources to aid understanding of pest spread and improve the uptake of rural/farm-gate biosecurity practices. Preparing research proposals and funding applications. Representing Environment Canterbury on national working groups and management groups relating to pest management and biosecurity. Generating progress reports for senior management, council and external parties.Year-end financial and programme reporting

Key responsibilities: Leading catchment based urban water quality programmes to improve urban stream health Participating in inter-agency working groups focussing on improving stormwater management across Christchurch.Conducting environmental audits of industrial work sites and working with businesses to voluntarily improve environmental standards.
